A German cup-hilt rapier,circa 1640. Long thrusting blade,signed "PETER BRABENDER ME FECIT IN SOLINGEN" within the fullers on both sides. S-shaped quillons,pierced shell guard with embossed ornaments. Facetted pommel,grip with iron wire winding and turk's heads. Length 122 cm.
