Daniel O'Connell Bridge over the Manuherikia River just outside of the small settlement of Ophir in Central Otago, New Zealand.


The present bridge over the Manuherikia River dates from 1880. It is a singlr lane wooden wooden bridge designed by Vincent County engineer LD MacGeorge. It is one of the last surviving suspension bridges in Central Otago. It was rebuilt with steel in 1905. The predominently Irish population of Ophir named the bridge after the Irish patriot Daniel O'Connell.
