A Boeing B-17F (“Virgin’s Delight,” of the 410th Bomb Squadron, 94th Bombardment Group (Heavy), 8th Air Force,) flying over the burning Focke Wulf factory at Marenburg in Germany. This raid was a success in that the precision bombing meant that the factory was heavily damaged. However the distance that the planes had to fly back to the UK meant that the Luftwaffe had plenty of time to regroup at inflict heavy losses on the bombers.
