Cover the soil where Lilies are to be planted with hay, straw, etc., to keep the frost out until planting time. Formosanuni Dream or New Wonder Lily Auratum 3 for Gold Banded Lily $ Large, graceful, fragrant ivory white flowers. They are studded with chocolate-crimson spots and striped through the center with golden yellow. Blooms from July to September, can- not endure lime, and does well in semi-shade. Cover bulbs 8 inches deep. (November deliv- ery). Mammolh bulbs: 40c each; 3 for $; 12 for ; 25 for ; 100 for Auratum platyphyllum ® This variety is as beautiful as the preceding but has broader leaves and the flowers are not spotted as intensely. It blooms from July to September and cannot endure lime. Plant the bulbs in semi-shade and cover them with 8 inches of fine sandy soil. After once having become established they will last for many years. (November delivery). Mammoth bulbs: 45c each; 3 for ; 12 for $; 25 for $ Canadense—Canadian Lily ® Also known as Meadow Lily. Pretty nodding bell-shaped flowers in red or yellow with black spots. 2 to 3 feet high blooming in June and July. Cannot endure lime. Cover the bulbs 5 inches deep. (October delivery). Flavum.
