This is a splendid sort of a soft, pleasing shade of carmine ; of good size and excellent habit, the foli- age is dark green with bronzy mark- ings ; it is of strong, robust habit, growing 4% feet high. Very effective. Italia. Is of a bright orange-scarlet, with a very broad golden yellow border ; the flowers, which are pro- duced on massive stems about sixteen inches long, are set well above the foliage; the foliage is large and heavy, similar to that of Musa Ensete. One of the best sorts. Madame Crozy. The flowers of this well-known and popular variety are of a bright crimson-scarlet, bordered with golden yellow. The plant is of vigorous growth yet dwarf in habit, rarely exceeding 4 feet in height. Foliage bright green, and very mass- ive. The flowers are produced on large, branching stems which are closely set with bloom, each stem being really a bouquet in itself. Mad. Leon Leclerc. Entirely distinct ground color, being a bright orange- scarlet with a heavy tip and narrow margin of yellow. 5 feet. Papa. A fine red, with large flowers and truss. 3% feet. President McKin ley. Color brilliant crimson, with bright scarlet shading. Truss large, compact, of good shape, held well above the foliage, and produced freely and evenly. Plant is dwarf, 3 feet; foliage deep green, with marked chocolate margin. It is one of the earliest bloomers, coming into flower when from 14 to 18 inches high, and blooming continuously thereafter.
