St. John of Nepommucene - John of Nepomuk Saint confesses the Queen of Bohemia 1740 - 1743 Giuseppe Maria Crespi 1665 – 1747, nicknamed Lo Spagnuolo ("The Spaniard"), was an Italian late Baroque painter of the Bolognese School. Italy, Italian, ( John of Nepomuk is the saint of Bohemia who was drowned in the Vltava river at the behest of Wenceslaus IV of Bohemia. Later accounts state that he was the confessor of the queen of Bohemia and refused to divulge the secrets of the confessional. )
