Much of course will depend, in this respect, on the consti-tution of the patient, and on the condition of the tumor; those circum-stances which are most favorable to the spontaneous cure of the aneurismwill also influence the rapidity of the cure by compression. Tliere are,undoubtedly, certain conditions of the blood in which it is little disposedto coagulate, and in these cases the duration of the treatment will neces-sarily be prolonged. So, also, when the aneurism is tubular, we mustexpect that the blood wdiich passes freely tiirough it in the direct currentof the circulation will be slower in undergoing those changes that leadto its consolidati
