2019 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe
Every year, just before the Super Bowl and the Phoenix Open, Barrett-Jackson stages a huge auto auction at Westworld in Scottsdale, Arizona. Since it had been a few years since my previous visit, I ventured to Westworld, camera in hand. Here is a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe which has been restored to its original condition including a new interior which was just recently completed. It’s powered by an original Flathead V8 engine backed by a 3-speed manual transmission and is equipped with new whitewall tires and shocks. Those my age will remember those wide whitewalls which later became much narrower and eventually disappeared altogether. The sale price for this ride was $23,100.
