Montreuil-sur-Mer in the Nord Pas-de-Calais region is a lovely old town with a fortified citadel, old streets, good hotels and restaurants and wonderful surrounding countryside During World War 1 Field Marshal Douglas Haig had his British forces HQ in the town and this statue of him is in the main square in recognition.
