The façade of Santa Cristina church on the Arno river bank with the street sign of Via delle Belle Donne on Palazzo Blu, Pisa, Tuscany, Italy

Santa Cristina church (9th century) is a Roman-Catholic church in Neoclassical style on the Lungarno Gambacorti in Pisa. Palazzo Blu is a center for temporary exhibitions and cultural activities and is located in the Palazzo Giuli Rosselmini Gualandi (and Palazzo Casarosa), ancient palace restored by the Fondazione Pisa. Its name comes from the blue color uncovered during an architectural recent restoration, and attributable to the taste of Russian owners who acquired the Palazzo in the eighteenth century. Via delle Belle Donne, translatable in "Beautiful Women Street", is the curious name deriving from the presence in the last centuries and up to the fifties of many brothels.
