Hiran Minar Deer Minaret Between 1570 and 1586 during the reign of Emperor Akbar the capital of the Moghul Empire was situated in Fatehpur Sikhri 40 Km west of Agra The Hiran Minar which is actually outside the Fort grounds is said to have been erected over the grave of a favourite elephant The 21 metre high tower has stone elephant tusks protruding from it From the tower Akbar is said to have shot at deer Fatehpur Sikri Uttar Pradesh India Asia
