Grace Kelly, Princess Grace

Grace Patricia Kelly was an American actress who married Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, to become Princess consort of Monaco, styled as Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco. She began acting in 1950, at the age of 20. She appeared in New York theater productions and live televised drama productions. Hollywood beckoned. In 1954 Kelly won a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award for her performance in, The Country Girl. She retired from acting at 26 to enter upon her duties in Monaco. She and Prince Rainier had three children: Caroline, Albert, and St̩phanie. In 1982, while driving with her daughter, St̩phanie, she suffered a stroke, which caused her to drive her car off the road. She was pulled alive from the wreckage, but had suffered serious injuries, She died the following day having never regained consciousness. Princess grace was 52 years old.
