Florida Bay exhibits a wide range of 8"*0 values related to evaporation, precipitation, and mixing with water derived from the Everglades, the Gulf of Mex- ico, and the Florida Reef Tract. The wide range of 8'*0 values was noted by Lloyd (1964) who was unable to exhibit any relationship between salinity and 8'^0. In contrast to the study of Lloyd (1964), the data in this study were collected within a temporal and spatial framework and consequently the apparent poor coitc- lation between salinity and 6'^0 noted by Lloyd can be explained by mixing between different end-mem- P CO -5 00 -^.
