Chamber Pot Shower, Toilet Humor, 1798
Entitled: "Night" a drunken magistrate stumbles down Charing Cross Road, oblivious to the shower falling from an emptied chamberpot; to the grimacing patient undergoing treatment in the window behind him; and to the fire, homelessness, and wreckage of the disintegrating city around him. Toilet humor is a type of off-color humor dealing with defecation, urination, and flatulence, and to a lesser extent vomiting and other body functions. Toilet humor is popular among a wide range of ages, but is especially popular with children and teenagers, for whom cultural taboos related to acknowledgement of waste excretion still have a degree of novelty.
