Vaughan's Choice DAFFODILS or NARCISSI There is no flower of recent years that has forged its way to the front, and come into greater demand than the Daffodil in the beautiful forms and colors in which it presents itself today ; and though heretofore Hyacinths and Early Tulips have taken the lead as the best spring flowers, we foresee the Daffodil in a conspicuous place in the annual procession of garden flowers in future. Today fabulous prices are paid for even one bulb of some of the new hybrids, and the number of varieties catalogued by growers is astounding, and often confusing. The varieties we offer are all choice, distinct types of the different groups, and prices will be found to suit all buyers. Being perfectly hardy (with the exception of the Polyanthus varieties)' they do well planted in any location; they increase in size, and flower year after year. Groups of Daffodils in borders of hardy herbaceous plants, and along the edges of shrubbery beds, are exceedingly effective and very beautiful. They are equally valuable for winter flowering in greenhouses or window gardens, and growing in pots or pans for house decoration. Three or four bulbs can be planted .in a 6-inch pan and should be given same treatment as Hyacinths. For outdoor culture bulbs should be planted 5 or 6 inches apart, according to size of bulbs.
