Vapourer moth eggs. Egg mass of a vapourer moth (Orgyia antiqua) on a jounama snow gum (Eucalyptus debeuzevillei) plant. The caterpillars of this agricultural pest appear between April and May. They are brightly coloured, with viole, red and yellow markings, and tufts of hair. The larvae feed on the leaves of deciduous trees. Photographed in the UK.
