Coast Guard's Dog Team Trip on Baffin Island. When word got around that the Coast Guard Icebreaker Eastwind was departing the Cape Christian area, 16 dog teams, sledges and Eskimos of all ages were on hand to bid the ship farewell. This impressive fellow, resplendent in his caribou skin clothes, is one of them. He is more than 80 years old, and is said to be one of the oldest Eskimos living. To him, the trip across the ice was just a lark. If you look closely, you can see the reflection of the Coast Guard photographer in his sun glasses.
