Spuiplein, The Hague, The Netherlands. Thursday 11th May, 2023. Putin’s main enemy; opposition politician Alexei Navalny, incarcerated with trumpeted-up charges. This is a replica of punishment cell (ShIZO) in which Navalny had spent 91 days in 2022. During his trial, Navalny was sentenced to 9,5 years in early March for giving an anti-war speech and speaking out against Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Navalny was poisoned with Novichok, a Soviet nerve agent on a trip to Siberia in 2020. Treatment was received in Berlin and Navalny accused Vladmir Putin of being behind the near fatal attack. Image.
