For some years after their marriage they continued to live in theland of their nativity, but being of a progressive and energetic class, theirfondest hopes were liased on the jrassession of a substantial hoiue for them-selves and those dependent upon them, and in the year 1881 they decidedthat they would lea^•e the land where the\- had spent so many happy yearsand seek a home in faraway America.
