Very fine ornamental grounds have been applied in and around most flowers and leaves in many variants, including ornamental grounds with diamonds, 'partridge eyes', blocks and zigzag lines. The scallop edge comes from the pattern and is finished with picots. The top is straight and finished with a banded strap.
