He prepared for college in theschools of his town and entered the University in 1862, remaining two graduated A. B. from Union College in 1866. He studied medicine with Charles Allen of Salem during, 1866-67;was a student at the Bellevue Medical College, 1867-68; was assistant toAlexander Hadden, M. D. of Xew York, in 1868; graduated M. D. from theColumbia University Medical College, 1869. He was physician at the Xorth-ern Dispensary, Xew York, from 1869 until 1872, when he located in Gutten-burg, X.
