NAVAL STATION NORFOLK (Aug. 4, 2022) Sailors and former shipmates man the rails during the guided-missile cruiser USS Vella Gulf (CG 72) decommissioning ceremony, Aug. 4, 2022. Vella Gulf was commissioned on Sept. 18, 1993 at Naval Station Norfolk. Vella Gulf is the first of five cruisers set to be decommissioned this year.
