Secondary objectives are: 1. To accomplish these objectives with a maximum of citizen partici- pation and input; 2. To coordinate the process with the planning of other governmental agencies and organizations within the county; 3. To meet the requirements of Oregon State Law; 4. To clearly outline a program of planning which identifies the re- sponsibilities of each planning body. The first step in the local committee's approach to the ob- jectives will be to begin an assess- ment of the character and nature of the Bandon Region, starting with a study of statistical and other data already gathered by the County Planning Department and then at- tention will be directed to problems and needs confronting this area. Local citizen involvement in Land Use Planning is a logical step. We hope there will be some local cranberry growers and other farm- ers involved. If such an opportunity is not available for direct input in your area's Land Use plan, you, as a concerned grower, might have to make the initial move in making yourself heard. It is important that people who are involved in agricul- ture give their local planners plenty of input so that they can act in your behalf. The Bandon commit- tee provides for this opportunity in a very organized and what we hope will be a successful manner.
