A well dressing at the pump at the Market Place in Chesterfield depicting the 150th anniversary of the birth of Beatrix Potter. Well dressings are produced to give thanks for the gift of water using only natural materials and may date back to pagan Celtic times, although now adopted by the Christian church. Chesterfield's are one of the last of the well dressings of the season, staged in September. This was one of several well dressings of 2016 along the theme of Beatrix Potter.
