On a very hot day last summer two Doves, after getting their drink, flewabout 25 feet to a bare spot on the ground in the full sunshine, each pickedout a small hump or hummock of earth, laid themselves out perfectly flat,extended neck and both wings fully and remained in this position for at leastfifteen minutes. Dippers:7 Green-backed Goldfinch, Lawrences Goldfinch, Louisiana Tanager, Phaino-pepla, Cassins Vireo, Huttons Vireo, Warbling Vireo, Least Vireo (all the Vireos bathe onthe wing), Bush-Tit, Calaveras Warbler, Lutescent Warbler, Dusky Warbler, Yellow War-bler, Audubons Warbler, Black-throated Gray Warbler, Western Yellow-throat, PiltolatedWarbler, Golden Pileolated Warbler, Parkmans Wren, Wren-Tit, Russet-backed Thrush,Alaska Hermit Thrush.
