Konkai-Komyoji Temple is one of the main temples of the Jodo sect of Buddhism, and is known locally as “Kurodani-san. " The stroll-around pond garden, Shiun Garden, is open to the public every autumn. The strolling garden "Shiun Garden" was designed by Ueyakato Landscape Gardening. Its pond garden is known as Yoroi-no-ike Pond. The garden was completed relatively recently in 2006. The garden path called Endan was built in front of the gazebo. It is called the Path of Encounters. Both Goen-no-michi and the Shiun Garden express the life and teachings of the monk Honen Shonin. The garden around the teahouse Shiuntei was designed by Nakane Kinsaku who is well known for the garden at the Adachi Museum of Art
