The records of the Detroit Board of Health showed higher bacterial counts in milk pasteurized by the flash method than that pasteurized by the holding method. The pasteurized milk which was purchased from other dealers often showed higher bacterial counts than the samples of the raw milk before pasteurization. The bacterial counts were usually higher in the pasteurized milk purchased from other dealers for bottling than in that which was pasteurized and bottled in the same plant. AFTER COMPULSORY PASTEURIZATION.
