Robert Burns' chair & writing desk displayed in the study at Burns House, Dumfries, Scotland, UK, where he created some of his best loved works. Burns lived in the two-storey sandstone house at 24 Burns Street (formerly Millbrae) from 1793 until he died there of a heart infection on 21 July 1796 aged just 37. The house is open to the public as part of the Dumfries and Galloway Council museums service. The chair & desk came from Eillisland Farm where Burns was the tenant farmer 1788-91.
