The cinereous vulture (Aegypius monachus) AKA Eurasian black vulture one of the worlds' largest flying birds, contending for the title with the Andean condor. They range over a wide variety of habitats from Spain to China and are almost exclusively scavengers of dead animals. With a wing span of meters and an average weight of over 8 kilos these are truly impressive raptors. Photographed in Pyrenees mountains, Spain.
