Original WW1 era portrait postcard of two cheerful men in the British Army Service Corps (ASC) at the Front in France. The friends are wearing fatigues and caps wearing the ASC badge, and carry a mess tin which may indicate they are soldier regimental cooks working in a field kitchen. Both men are smoking a pipe. date on reverse is 27 November 1917 and was sent from the Front in France.

The job of ASC men was to manage supplies - possibly these ASC men are managing food supplies since both men are posing with mess tins in this photograph. On the reverse of this postcard is written !To Fred from your sincere chum Joe 27 Nov, 1917, France".
