Report of the committee of arrangements of the Common Council of New York, of the obsequies in memory of the HonHenry Clay . care, with the assurance that while itremains in your keeping, it will be treasured and appre-ciated with as high consideration as his life was virtuousand patriotic. It is now upon its way to its final resting-place, wherewe hope it may peacefully rest until it is awakened by thethrilling call from the great trump on the resurrectionmorn. The remains were received by Alderman James D. Was-sox, in behalf of the Corporate authorities of Albany, in avery touching and eloquent response. The body was taken on shore and placed in a splendidfuneral car, when a procession of military, firemen, andcitizens generally, speedily formed, notwithstanding thelateness of the hour,—eleven oclock. The public build-ings and many of the stores and houses on the line of theprocession were draped in mourning, and brilliantly illu-minated. As the procession passed up State street, (the firemenbearing torches) the scene was one of the most impressiveand remarkable that had occurred since the remains left.
