Built in 1911, building 1020 was constructed with limestone walls and foundation, wood and concrete floors and a slate roof. It had a capacity of 45 men. Since the days of the pack trains, building 1020 has been an administrative building (late 1958), the Rod & Gun Club (1964) and an office building for the Directorate of Public Works Natural Resources Branch (1987.) Following a 2008 renovation building 1020 re-opened as the ACS (Army Community Service) Annex. The Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services headquarters relocated from Fire Station 1 on Custer Hill to building 1020 in September of 2012 and continues to occupy the facility today.
