01/07/15 Blacksmith Daniel Hawker at Mill Forge, Caudwell's Mill, Rowsley,

01/07/15 If you thought you were suffering in the heat at work today then spare a thought for this twenty-three-year-old, apprentice blacksmith whose workshop reached a staggering 118 degrees fahrenheit () earlier today. Daniel Hawker from Mill Forge, Caudwell's Mill, Rowsley, Derbyshire said: "Normally it reaches about 80 degrees, but this morning it's nearly 120 degrees. And it's likely to get hotter this afternoon when the sun heats up the south side of the building. "Obviously, it's even hotter by the forge - the thermometer would probably explode if we measured the temperature there! I'm used to the heat normally but this is really bad. I drink loads of water and I'll dip my feet in the canal at lunch time. "I can open a couple of windows and the door but the fan doesn't work. It's stifling in here".
