Non Exclusive: KYIV, UKRAINE - NOVEMBER 28, 2023 - Grandfather Valerii holds his granddaughter Miia, 3, who recovers from a surgery that saw a fragment of a Russian mine extracted from her heart, stay in the ward at the Heart Institute, Kyiv, capital of Ukraine. In the morning of November 19, three-year-old Miia Trishkina was wounded in a Russian shelling of Kherson, southern Ukraine. The girl was diagnosed with blast and traumatic brain injuries, multiple shrapnel wounds, penetrating chest wound, general and lung contusion. Miia had been transported to Kyiv where doctors removed a piece of a Russian mine from her heart on November 23.
