A SIMPLE RUCHE can be madefrom strips of the material. Cut offthe selvedge, for the selvedge is stiff andwould prevent the material from makinga soft ruche. Join as many strips ofmaterial as are necessary to make theruche the desired length. Turn underone raw edge of the strip and fold thestrip so that it will be double, with theseam at the center of the under side.(111. 329.) Gather the ruche throughthe center just inside the fold edge.(III. 329.). III. 333. Fluffy Double Ruche with TwoCord Shirrings A THREE-TUCK RUCHE is usedwhen more fulness is desired than isgiven bj a simple ruche. This is madeby cutting the strips about seven incheswide.
