The Inland Route, Indian River71 Mackinaw make the first important stop at GrandRapids, the metropolis of Western is Cadillac and Round Lake with abranch to Traverse City, a pretty town at thehead of Grand Traverse Bay, Omena, Northport,and the resorts on the Leelanau Peninsula. BoyneFalls is not far from Pine Lake, upon the westernend of which is Charlevoix, well called The Beauti-ful, and Walloon Lake, somewhat more retired, alittle farther north. But the principal resorts onthis line are Petoskey, Bay View, and HarborSprings, on the shore of Lake Michigan, delightfulplaces of a cjuiet, healthful charm that wears wellto the seasons close, and which bears butlightly on the purse.
