Short hanami season - the festival of viewing of sakura - Japanese cherry and plum trees - in full bloom started in Moscow, Russia on the last days of April, 2016. Many people, including families with small kids visit the Japanese Garden of the Main Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy Of Sciences to feel the joy of spring and the unity with Nature. The Japanese garden was developed from 1983 - 1987 under the direction of Ken Nakajima with assistance from architect Adachi Takeo, Watanabe Construction company under the auspices of the Embassy of Japan in Moscow and the 1970 Expo Memorial Foundation.
