Madness perform a concert in the last live broadcast from the BBC TV Centre
The last live programme broadcast from Television Centre was Madness Live: Goodbye Television Centre on BBC Four on 22 March 2013. Madness are an English ska band from Camden Town, London, that formed in 1976. One of the most prominent bands of the late 1970s and early 1980s 2 Tone ska revival, they continue to perform with their most recognised line-up of seven On 22nd March 2013 the band performed a special performance outside the BBC Television Centre. The whole show was broadcast live over BBC 4 from 7:30pm being billed as Madness Live: Goodbye Television Centre. The show was to celebrate 50 years of the television centre and marked fairwell to the grade ii listed building; this was the last show to be broadcasted from the centre. Although Lee Thompson (saxophonist) was absent from the performance, Mark Bedford made another welcome return to bass.
