A splendid Baltic parade sabre, circa 1740 Heavy, slightly curved single-edged blade with a double-edged point and double fullers on both sides. Profusely embellished with decorative etching (somewhat worn by polishing) of trophies of war, moon, sun and stars between tendrils and scrollwork. Elaborately crafted brass hilt engraved and decorated in relief, the grip and guard bars shaped like sea serpents with finely modelled heads.
