The elective component of the program provides some flexibility in the choice of topics to be studied. This component should reflect the expertise of the teacher or the interests of the students but it should, at the same time, reflect the intent of the respective Biology 10, 20 or 30 course. Suggested elective topics have been listed beside the concept areas stated in the Program of Studies. The emphasis is on issues and applications relative to the concept areas presented.
