Shongdian Yunnan Province China
Songzanlin, also known as Guihua or Ganden Sumtseling Monastery , is located at the foot of Mount Foping, four kilometers north of Zhongdian or Shangrila. The monastery was first built here in 1679 and has been rebuilt many times. The architectural style of the building is a faithful imitation of the Buddhist Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. The area is predominantly agricultural and produce is dried for storage on large wooden drying racks.
