The Negrito tribes of the Philippines are the Aetas, found in manyislands, but not now numbering more than 25,000. In many respectsthey resemble negroes, having frizzly hair and small flattenednoses; but they are a much smaller race, the men not averag-ing more than four feet eight inches in height. They are very nomadic,and eat game and wild vegetable food ; but they possess dogs as domesticanimals. The bow and poisoned arrows are their chief weapons. Theirlegs are thin, with scarcely any calf, and their toes have great prehensilepower. They are believed to be related to the Andaman Islanders andthe Negrito tribes of the Malay
