Mr. Roger Frys exhibition of drawings andpaintings at the Alpine Club in January could havebeen resolved into two sections: on the one handdecoration proceeding from emotion, on the othermerely from ingenuity; the former providing aninteresting exposition of the Post-ImpressionismMr. Fry has so eloquently advocated, the latterchiefly of interest to himself. Such a picture as]Vct Summer, igio, inspires one with belief in theprinciples Mr. Fry professes, while there are somefew others which tend to defeat ones belief inthem.
