Experimental Station at Method last sum- mer. The soil in the tomato plots is heavily in- fected with fusarium wilt and all varieties in the comparison test died by mid-season, except Manapal, Marion and Homestead. Manapal looked the best of the three varieties. It also has field immunity to gray leaf spot and 4 races of leaf mold. Most fruits range from to 7 ounces (the size preferred by shippers), smooth at both ends and slightly larger around than from stem to blossom end, but this feature is strongly influenced by the growing conditions. The fruits are firm ripening, thick-walled and fleshy rather than seedy. 90 days.
