A marble plaque stands outside the Pacific War Memorial on Corregidor Island commemorating the Asiatic Fleet in World War II as seen May 10, 2017. Lt. James Crotty was the only Coast Guardsman to serve in the fleet, first with the In-Shoer Patrol division, then USS Quail (AM-15) a Navy minesweeper and finally with the 4th Marine Regiment at Ft. Mills.
