Thukla is a famous place as a memorial viewpoint. All those hikers who have lost their lives to summit Mt. Everest including a legendary climber Babuchiri Sherpa have memorials in Thukla. These were actually built with cement and stones mostly by the families of deceased as well as the well-wishers of climbers.
