Planted singly or in groups they make a striking- appearance, and give a charm to the home grounds. Our stock comprises strong and thrifty plants. Agave Americana. (Century Plant.) The well-known "Century Plant," glaucous green leaves. Dracaena Australia. Very fine: stout branched stem: flag-like leaves, 2 to 3 feet long. Yucca aloifnlia quadrieolor. Beautifully var- iegated, marker! with narrow yellow and green stripes. BAMBOOS (BAMBUSA) Very useful and ornamental; they seem to do well in all reasonably good soil, and should be planted by every farmer. Decora- tive house plants, fine for lawns or group- ings. Whenever used they should be given warm, rich soil. All varieties respond quickly to good treatment. Arundinaria Japonlca. (Arrow Bamboo.) Ex- tensively used for supporting pot plants. Will withstand severe cold. Bambusa fulda. A type from Bengal, India, is an exceedingly strong grower and has proved to be very hardy. Its identity is somewhat doubtful but our experience with it justifies us in recommending it. Attains a height of 20 feet. Bambusa Hemonis. (Volatile Bamboo.) Thick and bushy. Excellent windbreak; feathery foliage, on graceful, arching Bambusa Solio. Introduced by the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture. A strong grower and very striking on account of its luxuriant foliage.
