Monasterio De Nuestra Señora De La Sierra, Hornachuelos, Cordoba, Andalusia, Spain. The Carmelo de San Calixto was founded by Santa Maravillas de Jesús on May 30, 1956. It is a place of ancient hermit tradition, since in the 16th century there lived about 300 hermits scattered throughout this Sierra, to whom the Council of Trent he ordered to meet under a rule and they took refuge in the rule of San Basilio. The Discalced Carmelites founded by Saint Teresa of Jesus offer their lives for the world, from a simple life of silence, recollection, prayer and work. Hidden in its closure, they remind the world that “Only God is Enough”. The sisters live from their work, using the time they are not in prayer to give Glory to God through their hands.
