Eryngium, also known as sea holly or sea thistle has a wide variety of species. Their spiky, architectural shape and strong steely colouring makes them popular with gardeners, florists and garden designers. The hybrid Eryngium Supernova Starlight was first shown in 2009 at RHS Chelsea Flower Show as a cut flower.
