Indian Tiger


Undoubtedly the most charismatic animal of India,the majestic Tiger has an orange coat patterned with broad black has black ears,each with a wrinkling white spoton the back,powerful forepaws,and a long banded tail. The Indian tiger is one of the five races or sub-species distrubuted about asia. Today, shrinking Tiger numbers and habitat are major is estimated their are only 3,750 -4000 Tigers left in India, comprising about 65% of the worlds population. The Tiger prefers to hunt large deer, especially Sambar deer, where availabe. Quite adatable, it can survive on smaller prey, or even fish in mangroves. it may attack humans if prey is unavailable or if it is old or injured. This behaviour has earned it the fearsome title of maneater,although other animals such as the leopard or the elephant take far more human lives.
